Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet, is a television personality author, author and charitable donor. Born in Greece and relocated to England at the age of sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Her success as a conservative journalist was further consolidated when she completed her studies. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice-portal that provided critiques of the political situation. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she decided to run as an independent candidate in the California recall vote to succeed the then governor Davis. Alongside this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their listing and the following year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 of media lists. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the President of AOL's media group. It was comprised of several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as journalist. She was very close with her father. However, it was her bond with her mother that has shaped her. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the leadership abilities that she is still known for. In the year she turned 16, she moved from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debating club. As the third woman president and the first foreigner she held the position of head of the Cambridge Union. In 1972, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics. After her graduation, she was a columnist-critic and a host on TV. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
