Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop artists: one who was able to effectively bridge the gap between pop and country, conquering the globe. Swift let go of the influences from her country music in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin, revealing she was one of the finest singers/songwriters from the generation she was born into. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use it to her advantage. The skills she displayed could be seen in the first songs she released, most notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless released in 2008 Swift was able to discover who she is and find an audience that was large. Fearless went on to become a global hit but not only in North America (where it was certified with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia as well as the U.K. and many other countries. Swift's next album Speak Now, released almost two years after the debut, further consolidated the success of this album. The album propelled Swift to superstardom. The three albums following -- Red 2012, 1989 2014 along with Reputation 2017, Swift's popularity only increased. This was a sure sign she had moved to the new music scene which she was able to fit into. It was not long before she altered her plan in 2020's more streamlined siblings the folk singer (and Evermore) and stayed in the forefront of pop culture.
