Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's tale combines football scholarships for his family as well as service in the local community. His first family is that he's the youngest out of nine kids raised in Eufala through Lucious Selmon. He played football alongside three brothers for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was one of the top linemen in the entire nation. In his time as the Oklahoma's quarterback of choice and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and won two national championships. He received a third scholarship in 1975 and named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned his degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. He also began an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being one of the top 10 youths in the US. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs during his time playing college football. The year 1975 was the first time he was on the team. group. In 1993, Roy joined at the University of South Florida's sports department as the Director of Athletics as an associate. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame by his fellow members of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 and The Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
